This Mann Filter looked almost identical to the filter I was replacing, except much cleaner of course. I don't recall if I did a price comparison of this part here on Amazon compared to other part websites that I normally purchase from but from my experience of purchasing parts and filters for the car it seemed cost effective and the shipping time was 2 days as usual so I would definitely recommend this product for all others that own a 2002 BMW 325i. Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2016 Verified Purchase This is the exact same thing as the OEM filter I bought from TIscher BMW for my E46 M3 ZCP manual. The only thing missing is the BMW part number. They also made one modification by adding a thin layer of a very large and porous foam, presumably to stop leaf pieces and such from being stuck in between the paper filter creases. The price can't be beat when compared to BMW's part, especially considering it's the same stuff. 10/10, will buy again. Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2012 Verified Purchase I purchased this at the same time as the oil and cabin filters.

Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2015 Verified Purchase This review is for the C 25 114/1. I put this in my '05 X3 with 80K miles. A few days later, I got the check engine light and the codes read lean mixture in both bank 1 and 2. I thoroughly checked the intake hose for leaks, MAF, O2 sensors and even the gas cap seal (all common issues on older BMWs). I reset the CEL and it came back again in a few days with the same codes. I had the older OEM filter laying around so switched that back and again reset the codes. It has been a few weeks and no CEL yet. I will monitor this for a few more weeks and if all seems well will buy an OEM filter from the dealership to replace my old one. Not sure if I got a defective piece but it did not work for me. Update Aug 2015 - Ok. So I read somewhere that it is recommended that one should clean the MAF when changing the Air Filter. I bought a $3 can of MAF cleaner, sprayed the MAF sensor according to instructions and put in the new Mann filter.
It has been 500 miles since and no lean codes so I guess it worked! Updating my rating and review to positive based on latest developments. Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2020 Verified Purchase This is not the same filter as sold by BMW dealers. The difference is the pre-filter material. On the dealer filter is found a 1/4" layer of plastic foam on top of the paper pleats. On the filter in question is a similarly sized layer of a gauze-like material. Whether one works better than the other I do not know, the main purpose of the additional material being to keep the paper pleats from becoming wet in the event that some snowflakes are sucked into the air box. Where there is no doubt is that the filter in question costs about 1/3 the dealer filter. It fits perfectly. Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2017 Verified Purchase Perfect fit for my 2002 BMW 325i. To my knowledge my engine air filter had never been changed and therefore that lead me to believe that the original filter I was changing came from the dealership and was more than likely the OEM part.
Similar to the other comments, the filter has a foam-like layer at the bottom, presumably for dusty environments as noted in the product description. My old filter didn't have this layer. The fit is somewhat snug - at first, thought it was the wrong filter. Was trying to slide it into the housing without Entirely taking off the cover. After taking the entire filter housing off, I could see the old filter fit loosely, with a slight, maybe 1/16" gap on the long end. The new filter need some pushing to properly seat it on the housing. Once done, the cover went back on fine. Snug fit, but it does fit. Can't comment on performance yet. FWIW, the filter is made in Mexico. Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2013 Verified Purchase For any BMW 3 Series owner - this filter DOES fit the 2006 325 Ci Convertible. 2006 for the 3 Series was a transition year - the sedans transitioned over to the new E90 body, while the coupes and convertibles remained with the E46; so at times, Amazon's Auto Fit Guide for parts for the 2006 3 Series vehicles may be inaccurate - this happened when I ordered oil filters from Amazon (the particular filter I ordered fit the E90 but not the E46 (I had ordered Mann HU-816 (I followed the fit guide), correct Oil Filter for E46 is Mann HU-925) - so be careful to make sure whatever part you order is appropriate for the correct body style you own.
